Thats me! And my wife. As extras in 'The Dark Knight' (in the panic right after the Joker shoots Lieutenant Gordon). We were given the opportunity to be extras for the movie back in the summer of 2006 when it was filming in Chicago. We did it as volunteers for the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago. I know that sounds kind of weird, so let me explain: Sometimes when a movie needs extras—particularly when it needs a crowd, and not necessarily when it needs a particular look for it's extras (like having to have college age extras if a movie were filming a scene on a college campus)—it turns to local charities to provide volunteers. Those charities then contact regular volunteers and ask if they want to be an extra in a movie. You don't get paid, but I think most people are willing to do it for free if it means that they might be in the background somewhere. Since everyone around Chicago was interested in the filming of Batman, there wasn't a problem getting people to volunteer. Then each charity gets a donation based on the amount of volunteers they provide. This way, the movie company doesn't directly pay for extras, they make donations to charities, and thus, get a tax benefit. The movie company wins, the charity wins, and the volunteers win. Smart, isn't it?
Between this and my blurry appearance on Google Maps, my blurry image is becoming quite famous.
